Balchik

Balchik is a hidden gem on the Black Sea coast in northeastern Bulgaria. Visit Queen Marie’s Summer Palace built in the Gothic and Islamic style infused with local designs in 1926. The summer palace was built by the King of Romania for Queen Marie, his wife, and features a winery, mill, chapel, and a vast botanical gardens. Walk around the botanical gardens and see over 600 species of flora set against the beautiful backdrop of the castle and the beach. The garden also features various themed terraces.
