Fenghuang

Fenghuang is a quaint town in the Hunan province of China. Visit Huang Si Qiao Castle, a stone castle situated 24 kilometers west of Fenghuang. Head to the Southern Great Wall built during the Ming dynasty for incredible views of the countryside. See a vast collection of carved wood lintels, inscribed wooden wall plaques, and decorative woodwork among others at Chongde Hall. Witness Miao rituals at Yang Family ancestral hall built in 1836 featuring black and white frescoes of mythical animals. Walk around Huangsi Bridge Old Town, a Tang dynasty military outpost featuring interesting buildings. Hike to Nanhua Shan, a small hill rising above the old town offering beautiful views over Fenghuang.
