Pasargadae

Pasargadae is an important archeological site located in the plains of Marvdasht near the city of Shiraz in Iran. A UNESCO world heritage site, Pasargadae was the first capital of the Achaemenid Empire found by Cyrus the Great in the 6th century BC. Pasargadae features the tomb of Cyrus the great, a complex of palaces, a sacred area for performing religious rituals among others. Take a peek into the grandeur of the Persian Empire at the Pasargadae Palace, a residential palace with a ceremonial center, audience hall, and beautiful gardens. Visit the tomb of Cyrus the Great built between 540 and 530 BC. The resting place is a gable-roofed tomb chamber identified by Alexander the Great, the king of the Greek Kingdom.
