Sanok

Sanok is a tiny town in southeastern Poland located on the beautiful San river. An off-the-beat tourist destination, Sanok will provide you a glimpse of the culture of Polish people. Get a peek into the lives of Polish people before world war II at the Skansen Sanok, a museum of folk architecture. Over 200 buildings including a church, post office, tavern, Jewish house among others have been relocated from the Sanok Land and divided on the basis of ethnic groups. Visit the Sanok Castle, a renaissance-style castle that is the seat of the Sanok Historical Museum. The museum is popular for its collection of Ruthenian icons and collection of paintings by Zdzislaw Beksinski, a renowned Polish artist. Another tourist attraction is the Franciscan church of Holy Cross, the town’s oldest church famous for its baroque-style interiors and exteriors.
