Sarajevo

Sarajevo is the charming capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Visit Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, an outstanding example of Ottoman architecture and the largest mosque in the country. A culturally significant monument, the mosque has a beautiful courtyard and intricate Islamic designs. Go underground to the Sarajevo Tunnel, a lifeline for Bosniak residents during the civil war. The tunnel served as the main source of food, resources, and weapons. The entrance to the tunnel has been converted into a museum. Eat Cevapi, popular street food of grilled minced beef made as elongated meatballs or sausages served in a pitta with onions and sauce. Wander around Sarajevo's old town dotted with 15th-century buildings. The Sebilj fountains on the main square are an iconic landmark of the city.
