Senj

Senj is a tiny tourist resort on the Adriatic coast in the Velebit Channel of Croatia. Visit fortress Nehaj, a symbol of Senj dating back to 1558. The fortress is built at a height of 18 meters and 3 meter thick walls with five towers and 11 canon openings. The fortress now houses the Museum of Senj. See exhibits of Uskok weapons, clothing of the Uskok army, and other historical artifacts. Explore mountaineering trails in the beautiful North Velebit National Park spread across the Velebit mountains. See the magnificent views of the Adriatic Sea and its islands from the numerous peaks in the national park. Step back in time to the medieval period and see what life was back then at the days of Uskok, a festival held in the first week of June.
