Sisak

Sisak is a hidden gem of Croatia located 60 kilometers from Zagreb. Visit Sisak fortress located on the bank of the Kupa river. The triangle-shaped fortress was built in the middle of the 16th century using bricks and stones. The railway bridge adjacent to the fortress gives a fantastic view of the Sisak fortress and is photogenic by itself. Discover artifacts from the prehistoric and Roman era spread over two stories at the city museum situated close to the old bridge. Take a stroll on the iconic Stari Most, a seven-arched brick and stone bridge across the Kupa river. See the ruins of the Roman city of Siscia - walls, baths, and towers among others. The modern town of Sisak is believed to sit on top of the ancient city of Siscia.
