Solin

Solin is an ancient city in Croatia situated on the Adriatic Sea and RIver Jadro. Visit the ruins of the Solin Amphitheatre dating to the second half of the second century AD. Archaeologists believe the amphitheater was built by the Romans and could seat 15000 spectators. Adjacent to the amphitheater, visitors can see the cemetery for the gladiators killed in the arena. The epitaphs give an insight into the fighting specialty, name, and origins of the gladiators. Explore the archaeological and ethnographic collection at Parac House situated in the amphitheater. See the ruins of public Baths in the east of the town. These ancient Roman Baths were excavated at the beginning of the twentieth century.
