Tarambados

Tarambados is a tiny village located in Greece and is popular for its distant landscape and architecture. Tarambados is lined with whitewashed houses adorned with marble displays and beautiful churches with unique designs. Enter the village through a medieval arch and take a stroll in the narrow streets of the village to get to know its culture and the people. Right next to the village is the Tarabados valley famous for its numerous pigeon houses or dovecotes as it is popularly called. Around 20 dovecotes are carefully preserved here. Dovecotes are stone structures built like a fortress with multiple levels. The first floor is used to store agricultural equipment, tools, and utensils while the doves live on the second floor. The dovecotes are designed with patterns of cypress trees and many variations of the sun to attract the pigeons.
