Trogir

Trogir in Croatia is one of the well preserved Romanesque-Gothic towns in Central Europe. The Cathedral of St Lawrence is one of the finest architectural buildings in Croatia. The massive Romanesque door flanked by two stone lions and the 14th-century bell tower are highlights of the church. Marvel at the grandeur of Cipiko Palace, a Venetian-style palace that was home to the noble Cipiko family in the 15th century. Scale the walls of the Kamerlengo fortress for enviable views over the old town and the Adriatic sea. The city gates of Trogir were a vital part of defense over enemies. The Land Gate, a tall doorway, was the main entrance to the city in the 15th century. The North Gate which served as an important access point houses several cafes, shops, and restaurants.
