Tuzla

Tuzla in the northeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the most multicultural cities in Bosnia and is famed for its only salty lake on the European continent. Stroll through the narrow streets of Tuzla's old town and take in the sights of charming Austrian Hungarian house fronts. Visit the TuraliBeg Mosque, a national monument of Bosnia and an excellent building in Ottoman architecture. The stone minaret and pyramid-shaped roof make the mosque unique. Learn about the rich history of Bosnia at Tuzla's eastern Bosnia Museum through local art, ethnographic displays, and exhibits. Visit Serb Orthodox Cathedral, an onion-domed church with splendid exterior and interiors dominated by colorful pictures of saints adorning the walls. Choose from three different lakes in Tuzla to relax and unwind. The Pannonica lake is the best place for a swim while the Modrac and Bistarac lakes boast lakeside hotels and cafes.
